Stillwater , Okla. –The Department of Parking and Transit Services will be hosting an information session on campus Friday April 14, 2006. The event will be held in Case Study 3 Room 416 in the Student Union from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The purpose of this meeting will be to present the parking changes that will occur over the next few years due to construction of academic, student support, and athletic facilities. The meeting will also include information on how THE BUS Community Transit System can assist in getting to and from as well as around the OSU campus. An additional information session will be held on Thursday April 20, 2006 at the Stillwater Public Library Room 214 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. This meeting will focus on services of THE BUS to the Stillwater community and to the OSU campus. Both meetings will allow the participants to meet directly with Parking and Transit Services Staff.
Due to the university's historic growth and construction on campus, there will be many changes in parking and transit services that will affect the OSU and Stillwater community. Construction of new classroom buildings, expansion of Boone Pickens Stadium, and the new parking-garage/transit facility will present parking challenges for all who work at or visit OSU.
“The purpose of the April 14 th meeting is to present information regarding new parking options that will be available next academic year while the April 20 th meeting will focus on community transit”, said Hugh E. Kierig, Director of Parking and Transit Services. “I believe that students, faculty, and staff will understand the growing pains we are getting ready to experience and work together in making sure that this new parking approach minimizes the overall impact to the campus.”
