Stillwater, Okla. Due to increased ridership, traffic congestion, and demand for this service, the OSU Parking and Transit Services Department is adding a third bus to the Orange Route starting September 27, 2004.
We have realized the high volume of use on this route, said Hugh E. Kierig, OSU Parking and Transit Services Manager. It was necessary for us to make this modification to the schedule in large part due to traffic congestion on Monroe and Hester that was keeping us from meeting our schedule. This change will not affect how often The Bus stops at each stop on the route.
The Bus stops every 15 minutes at stops on the Orange Route. The only change to the route is that each individual bus will now run on a 45 minute cycle versus the 30 minute cycle they were running on. The new schedule is posted on the transit web site at www.transit.okstate.edu. Additionally, new schedules have been posted in all buses and flyers are available on the Orange Route for current passengers.
Currently, nine transit routes, including the Orange Route, are serving locations on the OSU campus and throughout the Stillwater community. Seven day-time routes run from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and two night-time routes run from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Service operates Monday through Friday.
