Welcome to Oklahoma State University! For some of you, this will be your first experience on a college campus.

In total, there are more parking spaces available in ALL student and Overflow lots than there are permits sold. When spaces are available, a res hall parking permit provides everyone an opportunity to park near their building. When your preferred lot is full, you can always park in an adjacent Residence hall and Overflow lots. Take a look at Residence Hall Maps and make yourself familiar with their locations. Rather than circling the closest parking lot hoping a slot opens up, you can park in an overflow lot and walk to your next destination in a matter of minutes.

Below are a few tips to help you navigate your way around campus.

• Anyone with any type of OSU parking permit can park in an all permit (overflow) lot, whether you’re a commuter or live in a residence hall. When you can’t find a spot close to your building, consider the O’Brate Stadium parking lot and others. Visit map.okstate.edu for a map of all overflow lots. You may need to zoom out or click “load more.”
• Don’t want to walk from an overflow lot to a res hall? OSU transit buses run weekdays from 6:20 a.m. to 6 p.m., and it’s free for students. Check current routes on the bus tracker: thebus.okstate.edu.
• Don’t want to take the bus but you don’t want to walk alone? Students can request a SafeWalk from the OSU Police Department. Use the Rave Guardian app or call 405-744-6523. A public safety officer will meet you on campus at your car and walk you back to a res life building, any building on campus or fraternity and sorority housing from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Outside of those hours, an OSU police officer can help ensure you make it to your next destination safely, but timing will depend on call volume. • Students can also park in the staff and commuter lots after hours, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. The cars will need to be moved the next weekday morning.
• Off-campus students are encouraged to take advantage of OSU Transit, not only to park and ride back to a residential life building, but to get around town as well.

Parking rules are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, regular surface RH, SZ, GZ, SF and FA lots do not require a permit after 5pm and before 5am Monday thru Friday. Permits in these areas are not required starting at 5pm Friday thru 5am Monda.

Meter parking at the Colvin, lots 80 & 73 and staff parking 80A are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Lot 25 by the Classroom Building is enforced 24/7 as all spaces are handicapped or reserved parking..

In addition, Bennett Hall orange zone parking is restricted to OZ permits only - during any athletic or special event, regardless of time or day of the week. 24-Hour Enforcement Map (please note link to 24-Hour Enforcement map may not contain all reserved spaces, see physical signage.)

Visit the online parking system to remove old vehicles from your account. To remove any old vehicles from your account you must have at least one active vehicle. Contact Parking Services if you no longer own any vehicles. 

When you need to visit Parking Services, you may park in the MMTT visitor parking on the north side of the building along Scott Street, enter the Multi-Modal building on the east or west side. Metered spaces are available at the Monroe Street Parking garage. Do not enter the bus oval on the south side of the building. 

Disabled vehicles must be reported immediately to OSU Parking 405-744-6525 or OSU Police 405-744-6523 for verification. Temporary parking arrangements, up to 24 hours, may be approved for such vehicles parked safely within student lots or overflow lots. Vehicles in staff or faculty lots must be removed by 7:00 am the following business day. Failure to move the vehicle by the given times may result in fines and/or the vehicle being towed. We can also assist in jumping your battery and OSU PD can assist with if you lock you keys in your vehicle. 

Visitors can obtain a permit to park on campus at the OSU Parking office located at 1006 West Hall of Fame, 7:30am to 5:30pm M-F (during fall and spring semester) and 8am to 5pm M-F (during summer and university break times). To obtain a visitor permit please have your photo ID and your license plate number. Hourly parking is available at the Monroe Street Parking Garage or the Student Union Parking Garage. 

Yes. To obtain a visitor permit visit the Parking office between the hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm M-F (during fall and spring semester) and 8am to 5pm M-F (during summer and university break times).

No, we require all visitors to appear in person with a valid driver’s license.

Any legal parking space in the lot designated on the permit. A visitor permit does not allow free parking at a meter.

Lot 74- Only one Residence Hall lot is affected by special events. This is lot 74; The lot must be vacated the day prior to an event by 4:00 pm. Vehicles left in the lot after this time will be issued a citation and relocated to lot 81A. See parking map Parking Map Lot 81A. It is advisable to park in other Residence Hall lots or Overflow lots a day prior to relocation day. See map for lot options Residence Hall & Overflow.

POSSE lots- For sports specific POSSE parking maps see their website at https://okstateposse.com/parking/index.html. All posse lots will display signs by the entrance of lots leading up to gamedays. These signs will instruct drivers to vacate reserved lots by a specific time the day before gameday. Failure to move the vehicle by that time will result in tow. In the event that your vehicle is relocated it is likely the vehicle will be in lot 81A which is at the corner of Willis Street and Scott Avenue on the North West side of campus. See attached link for map Parking Map Lot 81A. If the vehicle was not relocated to that specific lot, please contact the OSU police department at (405-744-6523).

Garages- Special events may require the clearing of the 4th Avenue Garage. For weekend football games the garage is to be cleared at midnight; Non weekend games see signage at entrances of the garage and by email. To remain in the garage during a football game payment must be made the day of game. Payment can be made at one of two physical pay stations located on the 1st floor or through the ParkMobile (ParkMobile Parking App | Find & Pay for Parking | On-street & Reservation) . To make a payment you will need the location code which is 14112 (4th ave garage) and your license plate. There are a small number of special events that require the partial or full clearing of the garage. Signage at entrances and emails will provide special instructions

Parking in the garage will be done through metered pay stations on the first level of the garage or through ParkMobile, an online-based parking payment option (small usage fee does apply). There will be a flat rate of $25 for all game day parking in the garage.

Upon entering the 4th Ave Garage, find a valid parking space first, either at the metered parking on the first floor or any non-reserved space throughout the garage. You can pay using the pay stations on the first floor on the north or south side of the garage or using the ParkMobile app on your phone. We use your license plate number to verify payment, so it is essential it is entered correctly when using the meters or ParkMobile. This change will help streamline game day parking and ensure you are able to find a valid parking spot before payment is made.

For 4th Ave Garage permit holders, you will still need to purchase gameday garage parking. Your permit does not give access to the garage during football or other select events. If you are already parked in the garage, then you can just pay through the

ParkMobile app without having to go to your vehicle. Be sure your license plate is correct in the app to avoid a citation. More information on ParkMobile can be found on their website: ParkMobile Parking App.

All companies doing service-type business with the University on a regular basis which require parking on the campus are required to have a parking permit. This is a special parking permit and allows the holder parking privileges in vendor spaces and any other legal space, except for the Monroe Street and Wentz Lane Garage where parking is prohibited, unless paying at metered space. Application for such a permit must be made in writing on company letterhead and renewed annually to the OSU Parking Office. Vendors are not allowed in any reserved space, disability space without registering a qualifying state disability placard with Parking Services, or meter space (without paying the meter). It is prohibited to display a vendor permit while attending class at OSU. The vendor permit is only to be used while doing service type business with the University. Misuse of permit may result in parking fines and/or loss of parking privileges.

 Generally speaking, trailers are not allowed in garages or surface lots other than lot 120. Please contact Parking Services at (405) 744-6525 to make arrangements.

Parking permits are linked to individuals and may not be shared. If you are planning to carpool with other individuals, you may apply for a carpool permit at Parking Services. 

When you get your permit you are charged for the full year, however, you may return it for a pro-rated refund when you no longer need it. This refund will be applied to original payment method. Permits purchased with payroll deduction use a different calculation for "refunds" and are individually based on timing and your pay schedule. We do not give refunds after 5pm on the last business day in April. 

 No, permits are not transferable. If you give, sell or otherwise transfer ownership you will be guilty of wrongful use of a permit and will be fined $50.00 plus forfeiture of your parking privileges.

 All permit sales are online with the exception of registration, carpooling, university vehicle, vendor, wellness visitor, and permanently affixed. If you don’t have a local address at the time of your purchase you can have the permit shipped to Parking Services at 1006 West Hall of Fame.

Yes- overflow simply means that any type permit may park in that lot (with the exception of lot restrictive permits). 

Transferable (cling) parking permits are linked to the individual and may be easily transferred between vehicles that you may be driving. Update your new vehicle information at parking.okstate.edu click on “Manage My Account”. 

 No, only one permit per student/employee. If you forget to switch your permit you may pick up a temporary permit at the Parking office for that day.

 If you lost your parking permit, report it to the parking department immediately at our office on 1006 W Hall of Fame during the hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm M-F (during fall and spring semester) and 8am to 5pm M-F (during summer and university break times). The lost permit will be deactivated and the cost for a replacement permit is $10

No, you must return it to the OSU Parking office. If you accidentally or intentionally use the permit to park on campus you will be guilty of wrongful use of a permit and will be fined $50.00.

If you forget your parking permit for the day, you may visit Parking Services to obtain a temporary permit. You must have a photo ID and license plate number to obtain a temporary permit.

All appeals are handled by the Office of Appeals and are not handled by Parking Services. Appeals can only be made online through the parking portal, not in-person or over the phone. After logging into the parking portal, click on "view your citations," this will list out all citations on your parking account. Appealable citations have an "appeal now" option where you can submit your appeal. Citations must be appealed within 14 days of the citation issue date or they will no longer be appealable. Expired/failed meter, boot/impound, and tow citations are not appealable.

Visitors who wish to appeal a citation must create a guest account on the website or contact the Parking office for assistance.

Citations may be paid at the parking office via cash, check or credit card. Citations may also be paid online, within 14 days from the issued date, at the parking portal website, or at shuttle.okstate.edu/parking/citation. On the 15th day, unpaid citations will have their balance transferred to the bursar. Information for paying citations at the bursar can be found at bursar.okstate.edu 

The first four citations issued in an academic year (Fall and Spring Semester) will be issued at face value; Customers exceeding 4 citations in the academic year will be considered “habitual offenders” and will incur additional charges and/or actions: Citation five (5) and six (6) will increase $50. Citations seven (7) through nine (9) will increase $75 and may be booted. A person issued ten (10) or more citations will incur a fine increase of $75 and their vehicle will be towed. Summer, between Spring graduation and August 1st, will accumulate separately.

Citations issued for Failure to Display or Improperly Affixed Permit with a face value of $5 escalate separately. Citations five (5) and six (6) will increase by 50%, citations in excess of seven (7) will increase by 100% for the academic year.

There can be a few reasons on why you can receive multiple violations at the same time. Our Habitual Offender Policy has a warning system that informs the customer of future fine increases. Also, multiple rules can be broken simultaneously when parking incorrectly on campus which will reflect on the amount of citations.

Fourth Avenue Garage is 7'6"

 Yes, if you have a garage permit. If you do not have a permit, you may park in the garages but you are limited to the metered spaces located on level one. Citations may be issued for parking after hours without the proper permit.

It is best to find another meter and report the meter that is broken (405-744-6525). Parking at a failed meter is prohibited and resulting citations are non-appealable. 

 It is the sole responsibility of the customer to enter correct information at pay stations. Citations resulting from customer entry errors where the wrong license plate or location was used, will be given a one time courtesy with proof of payment. To receive the one time courtesy please email the OSU Parking Office at parking@okstate.edu, or in person at the parking office. If payment was not made prior to citation the citation can not be appealed. If you are having issues making a payment please call the office at (405-744-6525).

ParkMobile is an online-based parking payment option. You can visit their website at https://parkmobile.io/ or download the app to make payments. It will require you to enter your license plate number and payment information. Parking sessions can be easily updated to meet parking needs.
